Dear friends to ULIA,

I send you warm greetings from Uganda Library and Information Association (ULIA)!

ULIA is at advanced stage of preparing SCECSAL XXIII. It will take place in the former Uganda Capital, Entebbe, along the Shores of Lake Victoria. Entebbe Town hosts Entebbe International Airport, the International Zoo, several beaches and other tourist attractions. Entebbe is only 21 miles from Kampala the Capital city of Uganda.

The theme of the conference is: “Positioning Library and Information services to achieve Sustainable development: Innovations and Partnerships”.

The Conference will take place during the period 23rd - 28th, April, 2018 at the Imperial Botanical Gardens, Entebbe. So far, the African Network of Information Ethics (ANIE), the Standing Conference of African University Libraries (SCANUL), the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries (CUUL) will host pre-conferences three days before the main conference. We are expecting more to confirm later this year.

We expect participants from all over the region and the beyond. Distinguished guests are expected from world bodies such as IFLA, Africa Union, UNESCO, AfLIA, etc.

There will be colourful opening and closing ceremonies, plenary and professional sessions, exhibitions, the memorable Cultural Evening and Tours to different places such as the historical Uganda Martyrs shrines in Namugongo, the Source of the Nile, the Equator, Kasubi Tombs, Uganda National Archives and other crowd pulling places of interest. The weather during the conference will be friendly. Security is assured.

I extend to all of YOU a BIG and WARM WELCOME to SCECSAL XXIII, Entebbe, Uganda, 23rd – 28th April, 2018.

Yours Sincerely,
