01 - The National Library of South Africa Workshop on: Information as a Strategic Resource for Africa's Development
Brief Description

The workshop will be based on the outcomes of the Conference that was held in Johannesburg, South Africa on 16 - 18 March 2005. "Information as a strategic resource for Africa's development." It will provide provide an opportunity for National Librarians in the SADC region to take the process forward.

02 - Standing Conference of African National and University Libraries of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa (SCANUL-ECS)
Brief Description

The theme of the one-day SCANUL-ECS conference is “Copyright and Intellectual Property Issues” and speakers have already been invited. However, participants are encouraged to bring any related case studies they may have done on this topic in their respective countries. Such studies may be published together with the proceedings at a later stage. The conference will also examine fresh ideas on the management of SCANUL-ECS. The need for re-organization has been necessitated by the problems encountered in managing SCANUL-ECS so far.

03 - IFLA’s FAIFE Workshop: Access to HIV/AIDS Information
Brief Description

The Workshop is one of a series being presented worldwide by FAIFE with other themes such as Internet Access Management, and Transparency and Good Governance. It aims to provide ideas and approaches that partipants can take away and use in their institutions, and spread further through their involvement with professional meetings. It will consist of lectures and interactive sessions.

04 - Seminar on Meeting Information and Knowledge Needs of Farmers in Africa Through e-Agriculture
Brief Description

The seminar will examine the emerging field of e-agriculture, and participants will share information and review specific cases of e-agriculture initiatives in Africa and their impact on sharing, managing and delivery of agricultural information and knowledge services to rural-based farmers and communities to help them improve the quantity and quality of their agricultural production.
